Nigerian Youths Are Not Lazy Mentality - Part 1

Nigerian Youths Are Not Lazy Mentality

          On this day (April 19th, 2018) the President of Nigeria (President Muhammadu Buhari) made a statement which is "Nigeria Youths Are Lazy, Uneducated and what everything freely given to them" in a panel appearance with world leaders at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London.. this is what the President of Nigeria thinks about “a lot of Nigerian youths today”, this statement was the talking point for weeks and trend far and near. I what to enlighten you on what we can do to impact and improve our relationship with the nation so 'no one will again call youths as being lazy'. Every Youth all around the world will learn from this article, as it is not limited to only one nation but to the whole wrong at large and this article if well understood and acted upon will make us stand out of many, make us an advantage, impact the growth of the nation and we will be a blessing to one another.

Firstly, I Thank God For the privilege to share this message with you all.

          I will like to welcome you all from all around the world and around countries, to the Part One of this article - "Nigerian Youths Are Not Lazy Mentality". This being the first article on this topic should be part of our contribution in building our Nation.
We must remember that everyone of us have something to give, something to contribute. "Only Nigerians can help develop Nigeria". All that we require in our nation for our prosperity, our security, our progress will come from within us and therefore each one of us must be willing to be a vital part of it.

          It a very special time in our nation today and it's important that we share some very vital thought, some inspiring thoughts so that we can charge our course in the direction we should be going. By the time am done with every part of the article your mentality will change. I trust that by the Spirit of God that you will receive motivation, inspiration and the impetus to do the things you should do.

The first few thoughts I will like to impress on your mind in this part of the article is based on the "Theory Of Nations".

          There are too many people who don't know and understand the definition of "Nationhood", it's sad that all over Africa particularly many have not understood their reason for being. Africa was always called a dark continent, not because of the color of their skin but because of the poverty of their mind, but the time has come for us (youths) to make a difference and we will!

I want to communicate with you today on the "Theory Of Nations", so you can understand
  1. where were at in the presence scheme of things,
  2. What has been accomplished and;
  3. What is yet to be accomplish. And you can find your place.

          In developing the theory of nations there are certain concert that require mention and definition. All over the world wherever the definition of this concert are nebulous, they are misuse and usually leading to the suffering of so many people. This concert are;

  •  STATE

           To understand the developments of nations we must observe that (man as he is, is a gorgeous animal), thus human beings naturally relate socially, and as you know social relationship automatically define themselves with respect to strength and weakness, leadership and follower-ship because of the human tendency to protects or seek protection, and so the weaker congregate around the stronger to be protected and this feeling of security hiddens the weakest ability to function socially and so naturally the stronger demands further submission, while defining limits of freedom of the weaker of the species.

         Certain nations like Nigeria have completely fall the proper or the popular definition of "Nation" as a large body of people organized in their independent government ensuring common customs, origins, history and language. Canada also among others cannot fall into this narrow definition of nation. Has you know Nigeria has multiplied languages, diverse customs and culture, a wide range of diverging histories for it's many peoples which definitely don't have common origin. Thus, by this definition Nigeria will not qualify to be a nation but a "State" only and there are many other countries all around the world, that can only be described as "State".

          A State begins with the paraphernalia of governments with a definite territory derestriction, it is an institutional structure with territory integrity, thus without a defined land space a state can not function.
Whereas a Nation need not be territory in nature.
As a matter of fact the United Nations Organization called the U.N by its name cannot be defined as it is called it is more of an association of states. State are bond together by law and force, nations are not created by law and force but by free concert from its members and the definition of their progress, State are static while Nations are dynamic. Thriving states therefore are those who through education and culture have help their people develop nationhood. A State is ready for prosperity and development when it deliver to its people robust bill of rights in sense of liberty and freedom of expression.

          The purpose of nations is the realization of human aspirations, it is the pursuance of man's dreams or desire for happiness, prosperity, self-expression, ecological development, self fulfillment and his in-searchable and unending desires for self discovery and maximization of his intellectual physical and spiritual abilities. All these man knows he cannot attain or archive in his isolation but in his relationships with like-minded creatures. The purpose of state from the other hand is to form such associations, providing and establishing justice, domestic tranquillity, common defense, promote general welfare and secure their postulated ethnicity for themselves and their posterity. It is to ennack laws in insuring that define limits are not exceeded.

          As a people we have attained "Statehood" but we are yet to achieve "Nationhood".
Why in spite of government effort should a GDP of African nations continue to capsize? Why is their per capital income so embarrassing low compared to others? The answer lies in the fact that their gross mental attitude is wrong. The answer lies in the fact that their gross mental output is horrendously low. The answer is an aggressive educational policy and program.

          The educational policies and programs in African nations must be reviewed to foster intellectual and environmental productivity. We have our role to play as individuals. There is individual social responsibility, in spite of the odds we must learn to appreciate our games in Africa, in Nigeria particularly in spite of cheap propaganda against our country, Nigeria I tell you is still among the freest countries in the world. They are those who may argue with that but many of us have traveled around the world and we can tell you it's true. We must be grateful for our opportunity so far, many of us should be grateful for the scholarship we receive, the education, the environment and even the wonderful peace loving people of Nigeria with whom we have being associated. Many of us have benefited from the structure of our society, whether you love it or hate. We must now give back to it, this thinking is the beginning of the birth of "Nationhood", the idea that we own our society something, the idea that we own our nation something, we must not resign ourselves to always calling out for help and handout, reaching out to be given something by government or government representatives, we must make a decision to play on the field, to become involved and to be spectators no more.

          We must gladly render service and seek to improve our society, we must dream bigger and higher to create for ourselves a posterity in more secure prosperous, viral and a good society. Am also concern about corporate social responsibility, it is sad that at this time of self realization as a nation, major corporations and business establishments have to committed themselves to the infrastructural developments of the country. A country which they have so graciously benefited, no wonder the outcry of Nigeria Niger delta is getting louder though and hidded. I here call on thriving banks to help build our universities campuses. All the major banks in the country should become responsible for helping build infrastructures in our university campuses, provide classrooms for our secondary schools.

          Let the money you are making show in the development of our nation. I call on major business Organizations and corporations in Nigeria to help fund education as a testimony of their commitment to our evolution to nationhood and the realization of our dream of transition from third word to first. It is their responsibility to give back to a nation from which they have received so much. We are grateful for the opportunity and the privilege that we have had as a nation to transit from military regimes to becoming a democracy. Democracy is beautiful if and when a state achieves nationhood, until and unless a state has transited from statehood to nationhood that games of democracy, if at all present will be minimal and this is the dilemma of many African countries who have embraced democracy and many in their bit to savage their situation championed "Nationalism" instead of pursuing "Nationhood".

          It is to be made clear that Nationhood and Nationalism are neither synonymous nor do the serve the same purpose. Though nationalism in its true and positive sense is laudable, it is important for us to realize that in our world today that savage nationalism is the same spirit of racism, resulting in such (despeakable) act of the American black history, South African apartheid, an earthly cleansing of Eastern Europe, and Africa's Rwanda, this evils are the results of nationalism when its defined by blood, language, culture and history. We have to realize that nationalism when it so defined by our relationship through language or culture or blood has only led men to their untimely graves and fractured societies. Our nation will not escape such fractures if we define ourselves according to our historical origins rather than our purpose, our visions. This perversion of nationalism is the absence of national purpose. In many nations today through nationalism we have a (dis-guards) resurgence of medieval tribal wars. Nationhood is different, in nationhood there is mutual respect and respect for citizens rights, we must remember that democracy is born of the idea that citizens have the right to choose by whom and how they should be governed. And at this particular time in our country, it has become so important that we realize what democracy has granted us, the right to choose, the right to decide who governs us and how we shall be governed. Of cause it as been a slow journey, a slow process because most of us are children of military officers, grandchildren of military officers and we were brought up that way to me military and militant in nature.

          But the time has come for us to settle for the change that has come upon us, the change that we have all embrace, and by that change our language must change, our perception must change, our respect for law and order must change and of cause the law must change to favor it's citizens.
Democracy comes will a bill of citizens rights or citizens bill of rights even do ours remains largely undeclared but a call on every-smart thinking person to study the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria so at least you can understand what your right are, what you can do and what you may be forbidden of doing. Democracy thrives in an informed and educated societies, dictatorship thrives in ignorance societies. We must therefore embrace "Education", we cannot wait until we have the best of situations, we cannot wait until we have the best of conditions to read a book, we must choose to be informed, we must choose to open our minds and get educated. There is the "DO IT YOURSELF ATTITUDE" that we must have, each one must be willing to educate himself. Only that way can we be involved in nation building, as it is said; "No One Else Will Build Nigeria For Us, Nigeria Will Be Built By Nigerians".

          To build a nation we must recognize the concomitant sub-nations, these are the microeconos systems that function within the suffering nation, it is the development of this microeconos systems that increase a nation gross national products, it's per capital income and therefore it's citizens standard of life. Microeconos system are usually frustrated in states that are yet to understand much lease metamorphose into nationhood. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 28 vs 18 and he says; "Go he therefore and teach all nations", by the word nations he refer to these Microeconos systems, it means going into every man's world with the massage of life. It is our responsibility therefore to take light to our world, every man's world. Where there is darkness, we are the light of the World.

          True nations must interrelate, as it is true of nations it is also true of their Microeconos systems and these systems are interrelated and interdependent. It is important to know that each of us functions within one or more of this sub-nations, without which our relevant in the larger society will be grossly impaired. Individuals and indeed nations attain financial and economic independence through these relationships that nurture demand and supply of goods and services. Your ability to analyze, interpret and apply these simple principles is your opportunity in today's world. Most African countries are build on ideas and ideals of yesterday's philosophy, "we need today's thinkers for tomorrow's vision", therefore I call on youths to locate yourself within a functional group - these may be defined by;
  • School
  • Work
  •  Family
  •  Profession
  • Sport
  •  ‎Trade
           The unemployed mind is the burden of society and remember this - "There is a man or woman of substance hidden in each one of you" and you must discover that inner person and unveil him. You have ability, nature never created a failure, there are no naturally born failures. Impact your world with the what you have and grow from there.

Watch out for Part Two of this article - "Nigerian Youths Are Not Lazy Mentality.Thank You. Kindly share with others so we can all educate ourselves on this things. Have a blessed day.
